IoT tariffs process

Use this tab to manage the rates used in utility billing.

What this process does

  • Stores pricing rules and effective dates
  • Supports updates without rewriting historical bills
  • Ensures billing runs apply the expected charges

Step-by-step

  1. Open Tariffs.
  2. Create or review tariff records for the target period.
  3. Confirm effective dates do not overlap incorrectly.
  4. Validate rates against approved pricing policy.
  5. Link tariffs to the right meter groups where required.
  6. Recheck billing outcomes after any rate change.

Control points

  • Approvals for tariff updates should be documented
  • Date ranges should be tested before billing day
  • Historical tariffs should remain unchanged after closure

Done when

  • Current period tariffs are complete and approved
  • No ambiguous or conflicting tariff windows exist
  • Billing can run with predictable pricing results
