Step-by-step
- Open Poll Failures.
- Group or filter by reason and vendor.
- Retry failures that are likely temporary.
- Investigate persistent failures by meter or branch.
- Correct root cause (credentials, mapping, endpoint, meter status).
- Confirm fresh readings are received afterward.
Priority order
- Failures blocking current billing period
- Large meter groups with the same failure reason
- Repeated failures after retry
Done when
- Backlog is cleared or formally escalated
- Affected meters resume normal reading updates
- Billing-critical meters have no unresolved sync blocker
