IoT smart meters setup process

Use this tab to keep meter records correct before operations and billing.

What this process does

  • Stores meter identity and assignment details
  • Links meters to units and vendors
  • Tracks active state and controllable capability

Setup checklist

  1. Create or update meter records with serial/meter numbers.
  2. Assign each meter to the correct unit and branch.
  3. Attach the correct vendor profile.
  4. Confirm active/inactive status is correct.
  5. Test control capability (if valve control is supported).
  6. Verify the meter appears in readings after polling.

Good practices

  • Use a consistent naming standard for meter labels
  • Deactivate retired or replaced meters quickly
  • Recheck assignments after tenant or unit changes

Done when

  • Every active unit meter is correctly mapped
  • Vendor and control settings are valid
  • Readings can be collected reliably
